Ayrshire youth learn the importance of accurate record keeping through keeping track of their own Ayrshires. Members then have the opportunity to submit these records along with a "scrapbook" which conveys a brief history of their dairy activities. Outstanding junior record books in four age group categories are awarded trophies and prize money for their efforts at the National Ayrshire Convention.
